Float the New River

Take a scenic paddle down the New River with Tangent Outfitters    They rent all sorts of watercraft for New River float trips.  The easiest and quickest to do is Trip 6, where they haul you upstream to Eggleston and you float down to the Pembroke boat landing where you'll park your car a couple blocks from the store.  Easy to do & they have snacks & food for you while waiting for your group to get set-up and takeoff. They take you to the nearby boat landing where you leave your car & where your trip ends.  Trip takes 1/2 day or less.
Also offer guided fishing charters but need to be set-up in advance.  Canoe & kayak trips don't take much to set -up.  Call the day before.  Allow an hour to get to the store, same as going to the Cascades.
